Russell Junior “Pete” Miracle, 83, of Vanceburg, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Southern Ohio Medical Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was born Saturday, July 8, 1939, in Lewis County, to the late Russell and Eliza Griffitt Miracle.
Pete was of the Christian faith. He worked for the Lewis County Garage for four years and then went on to work for the Nine West Shoe Factory where he retired with 34 years of service. After retiring, he spent most of his time at his camp relaxing and watching the deer and turkeys. He was always ready to go to a bluegrass festival to listen to bluegrass music. Pete enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting, camping, riding his four wheeler and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Alice Faye Brown Miracle; two daughters, Tammy Adkins and Rebecca (Jesse) Stevenson, both of Vanceburg; three grandchildren, Jesse Stevenson Jr., Martin Burriss Jr., and Alison Stevenson; two great-granchildren, Jace McClurg and Charlie Burriss; two brothers, James K. (Shirley) Miracle of Wallingford and Gilbert R. (Vicki) Miracle of Farmland, Indiana; two sisters, Frances Kinder of Muncie, Indiana, and Mary (Eldon) Kegley of Wallingford; and many other nieces and nephews who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Donnie Miracle; and one sister, Helen Rankins.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Dickerson Funeral Home at 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg with Bro. Tim VanHook officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens in Vanceburg.
Jesse Stevenson, Jesse Stevenson Jr., Martin Burriss Jr., Tony Scott, Kirk Miracle and Josh Doran will serve as pallbearers.
