Phyllis Juanita Bloomfield Shiveley, 78, of Silver Grove, left to be with the Lord on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Carmel Manor Nursing Home in Fort Thomas.
She was born in Lewis County on May 8, 1947, a daughter of the late Albert and Alma Pruitt Bloomfield. She was a 1965 graduate of Lewis County High School.
Phyllis lived life fiercely. She was fiercely independent and fiercely loyal. She loved her claimed grandchildren, always smiling, always giving, and they adored her because she was “fiesty”.
She loved softball, and one time, she could actually “place” a ball anywhere on the field that she wanted when hitting. She enjoyed spending time fishing with her family, going to the fairs and to the movies. She especially loved to go “junking” and to auctions with her late husband, Herb.
She was generous to a fault. Christmas was particularly special to her, leaving her broke for months. She was known for the occasional “Bloomfield Fit..” If you knew her, you knew she had a sweet tooth. Some would say every tooth she had was a sweet tooth. She will be dearly, dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Phyllis is survived by one sister, Gloria Avis Bond of Silver Grove; two brothers, Homer (Earnestine) Bloomfield of Wheelersburg, Ohio, and George (Betty) Bloomfield of Garrison; a brother-in-law, Peanut (Sue) Thayer; Kenny Dyer of Fire Brick, whom she claimed as a brother; Douglas and Shannon Frlaey, whom she claimed as a son and daughter-in-law; a multitude of claimed grandchildren, niece, nephews, and many who loved her as MawMaw P.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert Shiveley; one sister, Norma Thayer; three brothers, Mitchell Bloomfield, Charles Bloomfield, and Jerry “Bird” Bloomfield; and one nephew, Robert Bloomfield.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison, with Bro. Morgan Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Skidmore Cemetery at Garrison.
Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Garrison.
