Raymond Butler, 78, of Vanceburg, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday evening, January 10, 2017, at his home.
He was born February 17, 1938, in Lewis County, a son of the late Mack and Myrtle Howard Butler.
Raymond was a member of the Independence Church of Christ and was a retired contractor. He enjoyed going to church, woodworking and spending time with his wife, children, and family.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rose Mary Lewis Butler; one son and daughter-in-law, Raymond Mack and Jennifer Butler of Falmouth; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rose Marie and Ronnie Enix of Vanceburg, and Rhonda and Anthony Rogers of Grayson; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Mack Butler of Richmond, Indiana; and two sisters, Helen Richmond of Vanceburg, and Edith Marie Rittenhour of Oceola, Ohio. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Lottie Dyer, Kathleen Faulkner, Julie Logan and Christine Dyer.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Camp Dix with Bro. Robert Buckler and Bro. Ronnie Enix officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Cemetery at Head of Grassy.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017, and until the service hour on Saturday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 7975 Lower Kinney Road at Camp Dix.
Pallbearers will be Zebedee Enix, Blake Rogers, Thomas Enix, Dale Enix, Roger Hardeman, and Justin Logan.
