Richard Binion

ThumbnailRichard Emil Binion, 89, of Soldier, Kentucky, passed away Saturday evening, May 25, 2019, at his residence.

He was born February 21, 1930, in Carter County, a son of the late William and Nella Rose Fife Binion.

Richard was a member of the Calvary Temple Apostolic Church and proudly served our country in the United States Army. He retired from the Bass Hawk Boat Factory and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughters.

Richard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Patrick Binion; one daughter, Michelle Middleton of Soldier; and two granddaughters, Brianna Middleton and Gracie Middleton. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Cecil Binion, Ora Binion, Virgil Binion, Russell Binion and Chester Arthur Binion and six sisters, Bertha Conn, Gracie Haywood, Sally Weaver, Ethel Kash, Lydia Fannin and Betty Skaggs.

Funeral services will held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Kenneth Binion and Brother Daniel Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Bradley Cemetery in Carter County, with full military honors conducted by the Olive Hill American Legion Post No. 138.

Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019 and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
