Robert William “Bob” Buckner, 81, of Straight Fork Road, Vanceburg, passed away Saturday morning, June 10, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 4, 1936, in Lewis County, a son of the late Walter and Della Bloomfield Buckner.
Bob was a member of Blankenship Christian Holiness Church and loved going to church, hunting, fishing, driving his tractor, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sue Ann Rickett Buckner; three daughters, Pansy Dummitt (Clayton) of Garrison, Shirley Stratton (Kenny) of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Vickie Buckner of Shelby, Ohio; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wilford Buckner of Vanceburg, and Gilbert Buckner of Oceola, Ohio; and two sisters, Martha Nolen of Vanceburg, and Mary Polley of Olive Hill. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie Nolen Buckner; five brothers, Clayton Buckner, Jackie Lee Buckner, Ottis Buckner, Donald Buckner, and Everett Buckner; and one sister, Betty Nolen.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Camp Dix with Bro. Doug Reeves and Bro. Jack Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Cemetery at Head of Grassy.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017, and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 7975 Lower Kinney Road at Camp Dix.
Pallbearers will be Clayton Dummitt, Kenny Stratton, Josh Malone, Adam Dummitt, Arron Stratton and Preston Beach.
