Robert Paul Elliott, 72, of Vanceburg, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025, at Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Lewis County on September 8, 1952, a son of the late Leroy Paul and Earthel Toller Elliott.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army and was responsible for bringing the first internet service to Lewis and surrounding counties through EKNS (Eastern Kentucky Network Services). He enjoyed golfing, watching NASCAR, bowling, playing Scrabble and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Joann Carrington Elliott; two daughters, Bridget Satkowski (Matt Gallenstein) of Maysville and Pam (Wes) Ferrell of Vanceburg; two sisters, Sue Jackson of Seymour, Indiana, and Kay (Alvin) Morgan of Tollesboro; one brother, Al Freeman (Teresa) Elliott of Radcliff; four grandchildren, Samantha (Lucas) Hiler, Gabriel Ferrell, Ian Ferrell, and Aras Ferrell; and a great-granddaughter, Ruth Anne Hiler. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Howard White, George White, Bill White, and Leroy White, and a granddaughter, Taylor Hope Satkowski.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Rick Buckner officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
Military graveside rites will be accorded by Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438.
Pallbearers will be Wes Ferrell, Gabe Ferrell, Matt Gallenstein, Freeman Elliott, Lucas Hiler, and Tony Carrington.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Carrington, Donnie Evans, and George Carrington.
