Robert Leonard Ricketts, 98, of Vanceburg, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Care.
He was born May 22, 1924, in Lewis County, a son of the late John and Aliza England Ricketts.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of Petersville Church of God. He was a lifelong farmer and retired from Bowie Tire Company. He loved working, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret Alice Morgan Ricketts; one infant brother; and three sisters, Daisy Ricketts, Genevie Fite, and Opal Howell.
He is survived by one son, Ronnie Ricketts of Maysville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2022, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street, Vanceburg, with Bro. Milt Stanfield officiating. Burial followed in Hillcrest Garden of Memories in Mason County.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Military honors will be accorded at the grave site by Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438.
