Robert Rose

robert-roseRobert “Bob” E. Rose, 70, of Vanceburg, formerly of Maysville, West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly at his home Thursday October 13, 2016.
Bob was born in Newark, Ohio, June 24, 1946, to Juanita Jean Bolton Rose of Florida and the late Forrest Earl Rose.
Bob was a self-employed auto mechanic for 48 years, was a farmer and a member of Cornerstone Family Fellowship. Bob attended the Petersville Church of God.
He was a SPC E-5 in the US Army where he served as a medic. He enjoyed farming and raising cattle in West Virginia until his retirement, at which time he and his wife, Pam, relocated to Vanceburg.
His hobbies included sitting and watching wildlife at his home and keeping up with news and politics.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Pam Sanders Rose, whom he married August 25, 1973, in Lancaster, Ohio; two daughters, Nicole (Michael) Cook-Tusing of Lost River, West Virginia, and Amanda (Joshua) Helmick of Petersburg, West Virginia; four sons, Robert Rose Jr. of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Kenneth Rose of Raleigh, North Carolina, Rodney Rose of Maysville, West Virginia, and Shannon (Amy) Rose of Cabins, West Virginia; two brothers, Roy Rose of Florida and Thomas Rose of Tennessee; two sisters, Sara Beckstead of Ohio and Linda Fairbanks of Florida; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dawn Presley; and a grandson, Skyler James Rose.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Petersville Church of God with Steve Landis officiating. Burial will follow in Gulley Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Petersville Church of God.
Military graveside rites will be accorded by VFW Monte Lewis Stamm Post 5438.
Pallbearers will be PJ Landis, Mark Landis, Tim Landis, Blake Landis, Lee Watts, Brad Fout, T.M Frye, and Brett Berg. Honorary pallbearers will include special friends and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Pam Rose PO Box 725, Vanceburg, KY 41179, to assist with funeral expenses.
