Robin Elizabeth Polley, 60, of Vanceburg, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington after an extended illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Robin was born at Portsmouth, Ohio, on July 17, 1963, a daughter of the late Clarence and Mima Royal Switzer. Robin was a mother and grandmother to several children. She was a homemaker and loved scrapbooking. Robin had a unique talent for making cards for every occasion as well as Bible markers.
She was a GED instructor in Vanceburg for several years and a member of the Lewis County Foster Review Board. She was a member of Muses Chapel Community Church on Quicks Run where she taught Bible school.
Left to cherish Robin’s memories are her husband of 41 years, Ray Polley, whom she married February 20, 1982; three sisters, Thelma (Wayne) King of Nevada, Ohio, Sue Kennedy of Vanceburg, and Donna (Mike) Grayson of Tollesboro; and a brother, Chuck Switzer of Vanceburg. Many nieces and nephews also survive who will mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Kathy Wilson, Jane Yates, and Carol “Georgie” Switzer; and three brothers, James “Bubbles” Switzer, Tom Switzer, and Rick Switzer.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Muses Chapel Community Church on Quicks Run with Pastor Mike Grayson and Bro. Terry Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Muses Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Muses Chapel Community Church.
Pallbearers will be Zander Hartley, Tommy Polley, Zach Tulley, Tommy Polley Jr., Brad Polley, Derrick Switzer, Hunter Gage Switzer, and Daryl Switzer.
