Roger D. Burns, 67, of Garrison, passed away Friday night, June 24, 2016, at Hospice of Hope Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville.
He was born August 6, 1948, in Greenup County, a son of the late Carl and Lula Alice Hart Burns.
Roger was a retired mechanic and enjoyed working on dozers, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Glenda Horsley.
Roger is survived by his wife of 48 years, Inez Parson Burns; three sons, Rodney Burns (Trista), Chris Burns (Robin), and Willie Burns all of Garrison; one daughter, Debra Madden (Tim Stamper) of Garrison; seven grandchildren; one brother, Rick Burns (Jenny) of Garrison; and four sisters, Ruby Royster, Rita Horsley (Lonzo), Velma Rhoden (Ronnie), Lisa Royster (Dale) all of Garrison. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Garrison with Bro. Lonzo Horsley officiating. Burial will follow in Logan Cemetery on Zion Ridge in Greenup County.
Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue in Garrison.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Royster, Dustin Huff, Jason Rhoden, Mike Parson, Tim Parson, Michael Horsley and Christopher Burns.
