Gayle Roger Ruark, 76, of Vanceburg, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024, at Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Care.
Roger was born at Portsmouth, Ohio, June 24, 1947, a son of the late Rival and Olive Dummitt Ruark. He was a truck driver and worked for the Epes Transport Systems in North Carolina. He was a member of Quincy Church of Christ.
Most of all, he loved his family and adored his grandchildren.
Left to cherish Roger’s memories are a daughter, Ashley (David) Lucas of Vanceburg, and four grandchildren, Jessica, Brennan, Jerra, and Ransam Lucas. Many friends also survive who will mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Vena Pearl Osborne Ruark, in 2007, and two brothers, Glenn Ruark and Gary Ruark.
At Roger’s request, there will be no service at this time.
A gathering will be planned at the convenience of the family.
