Roger Lee Zornes, 79, of Emerson, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Roger was born May 5, 1945, in Bucyrus, Ohio, a son of the late Willard and Martha Zornes.
He loved attending church and spending time with his multiple church families praising the Lord. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hanging out with his beloved dogs, going to historical sites and museums, and tending to his purple martins. He treasured time spent on the farm mowing and gardening. Roger was an honorary member of the Holy Rollers Ministry and loved going out in the community to do the Lord’s work.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Lisa Zornes; two daughters, Becky (Chip) Hundley of Danville and Aimee (Steve) Pennington of Emerson; a son, Scott (Vickie) Stacy of Emerson; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother and three sisters, Shirley Zornes, Joyce Ann Dummitt and Alice Faye Sparks of Emerson.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60 at Olive Hill, with Bro. Terry Cooper and Bro. Kyle Burchett officiating. Burial will follow in Roger’s Farm Cemetery.
