Ronald Dean Applegate, 65, of Garrison, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 28, 2016, at his home.
He was born November 15, 1950, in Milford, a son of the late Fred E. and Mary Rose Boling Applegate.
Ronald was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was a retired carpenter. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Delbert Applegate, Fred Applegate, Cecil Applegate, and Tom Applegate; and four sisters, Gladys Fredrick, Francis Brooks, Bessie Myers, and Doloris Hicks.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Betty Jane Evans Applegate; two daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie Lynn and Jeremy Cooley of Morehead, and Amy Jo and Michael Moran of Vanceburg; the loves of his life, his four grandchildren, Zackary Cooley, Sierra Cooley, Justin Madden, and Karli Madden; five brothers, Stanley Applegate of Sharonville, Ohio, Kenny Applegate and Don Applegate, both of Black Oak, Bobby Applegate of Tollesboro, and Harry Applegate of Ripley, Ohio; and two sisters, Judy Sweet of Maysville, and Elene Bailey of Ewing. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Garrison with Bro. Gene Miracle and Bro. Terry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Cooper-Willis Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until the hour of services Sunday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue in Garrison.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Cooley, Dillon Wright, Michael Moran, Chad Evans, Bret Evans, and AJ Polley. Zackary Cooley and Amy Moran will serve as honorary pallbearers.
