Roxie Mae Smith Lawson, 78, of Tollesboro, passed away Saturday evening, July 4, 2020, at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was born May 12, 1942, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy Butler Smith.
Roxie was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Raceland and was a caregiver. She enjoyed going to church, going out to eat with her sisters, and spending time with her family.
Roxie is survived by three sons, Rocky Lawson (Lois) of Georgetown, Tony Lawson (Diane) of Sullivan, Ohio, and Jeff Lawson (Cindy) of Tollesboro; two brothers, Raymond Smith of Tennessee, and Vernon Smith of Vanceburg; six sisters, Nellie Bradford of Columbus, Ohio, Margie Reed of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ann Lewis of Brownsburg, Indiana, Nova Bannister, Kathy Mefford, and Tena Jarrell, all of Vanceburg; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lovell Smith and Henry Smith Jr.; three sisters, Mary Bloomfield, Judy Smith and Alvia Hartley; and one infant sister.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Bro. James Ison officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Lewis County.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 11918 Ky 57 at Tollesboro.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
