Roy T. Elliott, 78, of Shelbyville, Indiana, formerly of Vanceburg, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Greenfield, Indiana.
Born February 1, 1938, in Charters, Kentucky, he was the son of Otha Elliott and Mildred Ginn Elliott.
Mr. Elliott was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Vietnam. He worked at the Indiana State Highway Dept. and Penske. He loved gardening, flowers, working in the yard, and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Sue M. Elliott; daughter, Amanda Elliott; son, Greg Elliott; granddaughters, Jade and Corie, all of Shelbyville;Â step-daughter, Ginger (David) Hubbard of Ohio; sisters, Hazel Polley and Jean Lanthorn, both of South Shore, Ky., Maxine Anderson of Shelbyville, Indiana, Jennifer McNeely of Saint Paul, Indiana, Othiea Elliott of Plainfield, Indiana, Willetta Smith of Greenfield, Indiana, Lillian Persinger of Beech Grove, Indiana and Naomi Moore of Waldron, Indiana; brothers, George Elliott of Shelbyville, Indiana, and Doug Elliott of Fountaintown, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles Elliott; and his first wife, Judy Bennett.
Funeral service provided by Murphy-Parks Funeral Service was Saturday, February 13, 2016, with military honor burial in Heroes of Honor and Glory Veterans Cemetery at Whispering Hope Gardens in Shelbyville, Indiana.
