Roy Mitchell “Mickey” Kennedy, 71, of Tollesboro, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at his home.
He was born July 20, 1950, in Lewis County, a son of the late Herbert and Bertha Highfield Kennedy.
Roy was a member of Hickory Grove Christian Church. He worked for Windstream for 39 years. He enjoyed spending time with his church family, fishing, having cookouts with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Pamela Joy Pollitt Kennedy; one son, Roy “Mitch” Kennedy Jr. (Melissa) of Morehead; two daughters, Michelle Kennedy (Steve Shope) of Vanceburg and Robin Fite (Shawn Day) of Bracken County; two brothers, Lonnie Kennedy of Covington and Herbie Kennedy of Concord; three sisters, Dianna Malone and Dela Malone of Tollesboro and Joyce Phillips of Cincinnati, Ohio; and six grandchildren.
In addition to his parentsm he was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Fite; a brother, Jerry Kennedy; and a sister, Rosetta Sowder.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 29, 2021, in Bethel Cemetery at Tollesboro with Bro. David Hickerson officiating.
Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
