Sadie Rae Welch Kamer, 88, of Garrison, went to be with the Lord at 6:33 a.m. on the third day of September, 2020, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born February, 2, 1932, in Garrison, a daughter of the late Hobart “Buck” Welch and Opal Kiser Welch.
Sadie was first of all a born again and sanctified Christian and member of Bivens Chapel Church at Garrison. Secondly, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired from Garrison Elementary School where she worked as a cook.
Sadie is survived by her son, Randy Lee Kamer, and his wife, Lynn Bernice (Niecie) Rogers Kamer of Vanceburg; one grandson, Dr. Jeremy Lee Kamer, and his wife, Abigail Jean Polley Kamer, and their daughters, Josephine “Josie” Lynn Kamer and Meredith “Merrie” Louise Kamer, their son, Ezra Tate Kamer, and Olivia “Livie” Jean Kamer, all of Columbus, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Kamer; paternal grandparents, John Welch and Clara Crail Welch; her maternal grandparents, Bob Kiser and Pearl James Kiser; and her brother, William “Bill” Welch.
A friend to many churches far and wide, a loved citizen of the community. Sadie will be missed by many.
