Myrtle “Sarah” Belle Robinette Thayer, 82, of Quincy, passed away Thursday morning, December 7, 2017, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

She was born June 26, 1930, in Wood County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Orville and Grace Smith Robinette.

Sarah was a member of Quincy Church of Christ and was a homemaker. She enjoyed going to auctions, shopping, dancing, listening to music, telling jokes and spending time with her family and friends.

Sarah is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald Ray Thayer Jr. and Rita of Vanceburg, and Ted E. Thayer and Claudette and David Allen Thayer, all of Quincy; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda Sue Lawhun and Jack of South Shore; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Robinette of Wisconsin; and one sister, Camella Miller of Ohio. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Donald Ray Thayer Sr.; a brother, Donald Robinette; a sister, Zena Robinette; and a daughter-in-law, Beverly Sue Thayer.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2017, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Garrison with Bro. Danny Bentley officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery at Quincy.

Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2017, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
