Members of the Lewis County Board of Education approved a portion of a restructuring plan proposed by Superintendent Belinda Forman during a regular meeting of the board on February 8.
In the same vote, they agreed to table a portion of that plan until the March meeting.
Board Chair Bryan McRoberts had asked Forman in December to develop a proposal for dealing with a projected budget shortfall of about $500,000.
Forman presented her plan to board members prior to the meeting and reviewed the plan publicly during the regular session last week at Lewis County High School.
Forman’s plan, as presented, would save an estimated $498,672 for the 2016-17 school year.
