Members of the Vanceburg Electric Plant Board heard good news on the progress made by the local utility company in completing the requirements of a consent judgement to make improvements to the city’s sewer system.
Plant Board Superintendent Bill Tom Stone said the improvements to the sewer system and separating the sanitary and storm systems have greatly reduced the frequency, intensity and duration of overflows experienced in the system.
“We are currently in the process of preparing our 2015 Annual Report that will be submitted to the Division of Water explaining our progress on the consent judgment,” Stone told board members.
