Shannon R. Bowers, 48, passed away Monday, November 4, 2024.
She was born January 8, 1976, in Cleveland, Ohio, a beloved daughter of the late Sharon Liles and Cecil Bowers.
She was a loving sister to Rachael Sommer (Josh) and the late Matthew Bowers, and a treasured aunt to Jack Bowers, Presley Sommer, and Addison Sommer. Cherished granddaughter of the late Janet and Samuel Liles, Shannon also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A true gift of God sent to this world to bless, heal, and change lives — one special angel to her loving family. Shannon was a proud gold medalist in the Special Olympics and an enthusiastic fan of the Browns, Indians, and Cavs.
Halloween was her favorite holiday, and she had a special love for watching scary movies. Her light and love will be missed by all who knew her.
Services were Friday, November 15, 2024, at Christ Church, 23080 Royalton Road in Columbia Station, Ohio.
A celebration of life was held at American Legion Post 91 in Berea, Ohio.
The family requests memorials to Special Olympics Ohio.
Shannon became a resident of Vanceburg in 2020, she came with her aunt and caregiver Sheila Cadmus. She was also helped by Sheila’s twin Shirley Kulyan of Tollesboro.
In 2023 Shannon became a resident of Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Care (Vanceburg Hills). She was beloved by staff and residents who are heartbroken over her passing.Â
