Sheila Horsley Burriss, 48, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday evening, February 25, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas.
She was born April 8, 1968, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of Rosie Maxine Gilliam Horsley and the late Howard Horsley.
Sheila attended the Shiloh Methodist Church at Hillsboro and enjoyed reading, camping, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughter, Peyton.
In addition to her mother who resides at Hillsboro, Sheila is survived by her husband of 26 years, Christopher Wade Burriss; one son and daughter-in-law, William “Bub” Burriss and Nicole of Grayson; two daughters, Shandy Burriss and Latisha Burriss, both of Hillsboro; one granddaughter, Peyton Grace Burriss; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Estill Martin Horsley and Douglas Marvin Horsley, both of Hillsboro, and Jessie Chris Horsley and Mary of Petersville; and one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Rose Hafer and Gary of Tollesboro. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Rocky Dean Horsley.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Richard Short officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Cemetery at Head of Grassy.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017, and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to your local animal shelter.
