Sheriff responds to spike in overdoses

Lewis County Sheriff Johnny Bivens is closely monitoring the recent rash of heroin overdoses that have put a strain on law enforcement and other agencies dealing with the crisis in those areas, all within a 90 mile radius of Lewis County.
The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office has four road deputies in addition to Bivens.
“We are patrolling, investigating complaints, and answering calls in a service area of 482 square miles,” Bivens said.
