Shirley Jean Vance

Shirley Jean O’Connell Vance, 88, of Tollesboro, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.

She was born at Covington on October 9, 1933, a daughter of the late Odis Vance and Maymie Vance.

Shirley was a member of Concord Christian Church. She enjoyed attending church, watching WLJC show, fleamarketing, bingo, going out to eat, tending to her flowers, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include one son, Allan Dale Vance (Melissa) of Burtonville; three daughters, Linda Mullikin (Daryl) of Burtonville, Barbara Carol Edmond (Bill Thoroughman) of Tollesboro, and Rebecca Faye Simms (Kent Renchen) of Burtonville; three grandchildren, Lori Mullikin (Bob), Jason Edmond, and Scott Vance (Megan); two great-grandchildren, Luke Vance and Layla Vance; two brothers, Tom Bosee and Al Bosee of Covington; a sister-in-law, Ruth Fetters of Lexington; and a host of other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Harold Franklin Vance; one son, Douglas Wayne Vance; and two brothers, Eddie O’Connell and Charles O’Connell.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 11918 KY 57 at Tollesboro, with Bro. Gary Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in McClurg Cemetery at Concord.

Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Pallbearers will be Pat Mullikin, Bob Netherland, Bill Thoroughman, Kent Renchin, Jason Edmond, and Scott Vance.
