Steve Henderson

Steven Ray Henderson, 75, Vanceburg, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.

He was born February 15, 1948, a son of the late Delbert Eugene and Ethel Garnetta Mason Henderson.

Steve was longtime member of Garrison First Christian Church and loved going to church. He was a Mason and enjoyed showing cars in car shows, loafing with his friends, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisette (Ray) Clark and Andrea (Tom) Carver of Vanceburg; two brothers, Johnny (Betty Jo) Henderson and David “Shorty” (Debbie) Henderson of Tollesboro; one sister, Rosetta Cooper of Tollesboro; five grandchildren, Cory Allen, Amber Burton, Erica Reeder, Jaden Hord, and Tabor Steele; and 11 great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn Jordan Henderson.

Services will be at Noon Monday, June 26, 2023, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison, with Bro. Dennis Dawes officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.

A Masonic Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday.

Friends may visit after 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2023, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Garrison.

Military graveside rites will be accorded by Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438.

Pallbearers will be Cory Allen, Blaze Allen, Robbie Hord, Josh Applegate, Justin Burton, Jason Bentley, Jeremy Wilburn, and Trace Tolliver.
