Tom Fetters Sr., 67, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead after a brief illness.
He was born in Lewis County on January 13, 1955, a son of the late Sam and Evelyn Renchen Fetters.
Tom was a lifelong logger and farmer who loved going to church, playing music, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Lisa Cole Fetters; one son, Tom (Glenna) Fetters Jr. of Vanceburg; one daughter, Tawnya (Russell) Thurman of Vanceburg; two brothers, Donald Fetters of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Steve (Linda) Fetters of Maysville; three sisters, Connie (Robert) Dixon of Florida, Brenda (Marvin) Taylor of Germantown, and Renita Faye (O’Brien) Ferguson of Flemingsburg; four grandchildren, Samantha (Bruce) Bertram of Garrison, Tiffani (Blake) Gerike of Tollesboro, and Jonathon Fetters and Jacob (Chelse) Fetters of Vanceburg; and three great-grandchildren, Paiton Gerike, Weston Gerike, and Adalyn Fetters. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Fetters.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2023, and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Fetters, Kevin Dixon, Jacob Fetters, Jonathon Fetters, Danny Edington, Cody Zornes, Corey Porter, Bradley Polley, Tommy Polley Jr., and Tommy Polley Sr.
