Tommy Stamm Jr.

Thomas Stamm Jr., 74, of Vanceburg, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

He was born at Emerson on July 13, 1949, a son of the late Tom F. and Lenna Ellen Horsley Stamm.

Tommy retired with 36 years of service from CSX Railroad. He was a faithful employee and loved his job. He enjoyed working on the farm, fishing, and spending time with his brother, Freddie, and his family and friends.

Tommy is survived by two stepdaughters, Tina L. Bailey of Vanceburg and Jonda S. Thomas of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Freddie Stamm of Vanceburg; five grandchildren, Travis Bailey, William Bailey, Thea Thomas, Zachary Thomas, and Marissa Thomas; and eight great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 17 years, Mary Ann Dotson Stamm; and a stepson, George Ike Arthurs.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2023, at Morgan Cemetery at Head of Grassy with Bro. Jerry Bloomfield officiating. Burial will follow.

Military graveside rites will be accorded by Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438.
