Tyrone Sauley

Tyrone Douglas Sauley, 74, of Tollesboro, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He was born November 30, 1945, in Hanover, Indiana, a son of the late Howard and Opal Sparks Sauley.

Tyrone proudly served his country in the United States Army for 20 years and at his time of retirement he was a Master Sergeant. He retired from Lewis County Board of Education as a JROTC instructor. Tyrone enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, UK basketball and spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.

Tyrone is survived by his wife of 20 years, Virginia K. Sauley; one son, Andrew Sauley, and his fiancée (Brandi) of Ripley, Ohio; one daughter, Lisa Coleman (Robert) of Lexington; one stepson, William Maynard (Shelley) of Tollesboro; four stepdaughters, Misty Dowden (Joe) of Tollesboro, Hannah Maynard and Caroline Lewis, both of Vanceburg, Elizabeth Mosley (Josh) of May’s Lick; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ramon Sauley of Hanover, Indiana. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry Sauley and Buddy Sauley; two sisters, Arletta Needler and Sonia Brashear; and the mother of his children, Evelyn Ballingall Sauley.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2020, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast in Greenup County with Brother Arnold Howell officiating and full military honors accorded by the Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438.
