Velma Dean Burns Rhoden, 65, of Garrison, passed away Monday, May 11, 2020, at her home.
She was born October 25, 1954, in Greenup County, a daughter of the late Carl and Lula Alice Hart Burns.
Velma was of the Freewill Baptist faith and enjoyed shopping, fishing, cooking out, and spending time with her family.
Velma is survived by one son, Jason Rhoden of Greenup; two daughters, Rhonda Rhoden of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Stacy Meenach of Greenup County; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Ricky Burns of Greenup County; and three sisters, Ruby Royster, Rita Horsley, and Lisa Royster of Greenup County. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Walter “Ronnie” Rhoden; one brother, Roger Burns; and one sister, Glenda Horsley.
A private graveside service will be in Logan Cemetery in Greenup County with Bro. Gary Jordan officiating.
Pallbearers will be Blake Jordan, Tarquin Fisher, Billy Jordan, Frankie Gifford, Josh Yates, and Danny Bloomfield.
