Verna Richmond Morgan, 89, of Van Buren Township, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
She was born June 17, 1926, at Emerson, a daughter of the late Elva Allen and Bessie Marble Gulley Richmond.
Verna was a former member of the Southside Ypsilanti Baptist Church and retired from the Ford Motor Company, Rawsonville Road Plant, after more than 20 years of service. She was the ultimate homemaker and loved to cook for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl J. Morgan; one son, Ronald Hamilton; and seven siblings, Goldie Dillow, Ralph Richmond, Shelby Richmond, Ruby Harris, Nora Morgan, Homer Richmond and Adrian Richmond.
Verna is survived by one daughter-in-law, Ruby Hamilton; five grandchildren, Robin Ezrow, Melissa Murad, Todd Hamilton, Darren Hamilton and Joshua Hamilton; seven great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one brother, Virgil Richmond of Emerson; and two sisters, Loretta Whitefield of Knightstown, Indiana, and Janet Cooper of Vanceburg. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Camp Dix with Bro. Dale Richmond officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Cemetery at Head of Grassy.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016, and until the service hour on Thursday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at 7975 Lower Kinney Road at Camp Dix.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
