Violet Butler

Violet Irene Butler, 87, of rural Bucyrus, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at her home. 

Violet was born October 3, 1935, in Lewis County, to the late Ora Lewis and Ada McGlothlin Sparks. She was married December 31, 1954, to Charles Butler, who survives. 

Violet was a homemaker and member of the Diamond Hills Cathedral in Mansfield.  She enjoyed working with her flowers, canning, shopping, traveling, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband, survivors include one son, Chuck (Susan) Butler of Bucyrus; one daughter, Brenda (Ronald) Moses of Arcadia, Ohio; grandchildren, Charity (Chad) Wagner, Trinity (Katie) Butler, Katie (Allen Hansen) Moses, Sarah (Zach Stieben) Moses, and Tyler Moses; great-grandchildren, ChayLinn (Nicholas Jeffrey), Chayde, KimberLinn, Barrett, Keegan, Landen, Calista, and Kinsley; a great-great-grandchild, Canik; sisters, Shirley, Sandy, Naomi, Helen, Betty, and Linda; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Russell and Johnny; sisters, Audrey, Alberta, and Peggy; and half-sisters, Ramona and Louise. 

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022, in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home in Bucyrus with Rev. Chuck Carrier officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 5, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
