Violet Highfield, 86, of Lewis County, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.
Violet was born on May 21, 1938, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Willard Clark and Gladys Monroe Clark.
Mrs. Highfield was a nurse aide for Maysville Nursing Home for many years and had worked at Arby’s in Maysville prior to her retirement.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Howard (Richard) and Betty Howard (Billy Jr.); three sons, Rodger Highfield (Noreen), James Thurman, and Randy Highfield; 10 grandchildren, Laci Highfield, Rodger Highfield Jr., Robbie Howard, Scott Howard, William Howard, Justin Howard, Christina Herald, Tabitha Lewis, Mark Thurman, and Randa Hartley; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Highfield; a daughter, Sharon Thurman; a sister, Mary Thurman; and a brother, Charles Clark.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Knox and Brothers Funeral Home in Maysville at with Sam Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Maysville Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Knox and Brothers Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Goodwin, Robbie Howard, Robert Hartley, Mark Thurman, William Howard, and Bob Thurman.
