Virgie Edington

Virgie Alice Hobbs Edington, 77, of Vanceburg, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.

She was born November 7, 1947, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Red Mack and Lyda Hobbs.

Virgie was a member of Route 7 Mission and loved attending church. She enjoyed singing, fishing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Caroline Hurst of Flemingsburg and Alice Mae Landsaw of Ewing; one sister, Wanda Hoho of Lexington; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of six years, Harlan Thurman; her second husband of 28 years, Coy James “Joe” Edington; five brothers; and six sisters.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Sister Tracey officiating. Burial will follow in Maddy Cemetery.

Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
