Virgil Lee Kilgore, 70, of Old Trace Creek Road, passed away Monday evening, November 14, 2016, at his home.
He was born February 1, 1946, in Lewis County, a son of the late Robert Watson and Parthena Logan Kilgore.
Virgil attended Grahn Hill Freewill Baptist Church and worked in construction as a concrete supervisor. He enjoyed fishing and yard work.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Sharon Kay Elza Kilgore; two brothers, Otha George Kilgore and Kermit Wayne Kilgore; and one sister, Wilma May Mabry.
Virgil is survived by two sons, Robert Lee Kilgore of Plainfield, Indiana, and Aaron Duwayne Kilgore of Morehead; one daughter, Paula Sue Kilgore of Vanceburg; four grandchildren, Courtney LeeAnna Kilgore, Chase Michael Wilson, Shane Aaron Kilgore, and Mia Grace Kilgore; three brothers, Joe Loyd Kilgore and Troy Ray Kilgore, both of Vanceburg, and Vernon Allen Kilgore of Olive Hill; and three sisters, Wanda Sue Wagoner of Olive Hill, Mary Elizabeth Kelsey and Debra Loraine Enix, both of Vanceburg. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2016, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Bro. Terry Glover and Bro. Jimmy Barker officiating. Burial will follow in Smith-Gilliam Cemetery on Laurel Road.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2016, and until the service hour on Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60 at Olive Hill.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
