Virginia Mae “Ginny” Garrett, 74, of North Moreland, Ohio, died Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center’s Hospice Center with her family at her side.
Born January 27, 1942, in New Boston, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Lane and Lena Billings Yarnell and was a retired nursing assistant at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center. Ginny attended Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene in Wheelersburg, Ohio.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, Clyde E. Garrett; and five brothers, George, Charlie, Mike, David and Tommy Yarnell.
Survivors include a son, Allen (Linda) Garrett of Middleburg Heights, Ohio; three daughters, Sue (Dean) Brumfield of Sciotoville, Ohio, Debbie (Dane) Blankenship of Vanceburg, and Kim Williams of North Moreland, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Payton of Twin Valley, Ohio, and Patty Jamison of Camden, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Brandy (Eric) Billiter, Lindsey Garrett, and Andrew Garrett; and four great-grandchildren, Bryson Billiter, Mason Billiter, Skylehn Billiter, and Kamryn Billiter. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and special friends.
A celebration of Ginny’s life will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, at Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville, Ohio, with Pastor Jane Jarrells officiating. Interment will be Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions are suggested to A.S.P.C.A. or Sierra’s Haven.
