Wanda Pruitt

Wanda Mae Carver Pruitt, 81, of Garrison, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023, at her home. She was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 5, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland, a daughter of the late George and Dorothy Carter Carver.

Wanda was a member of Wrights Chapel Church and loved attending church and singing. She enjoyed going for walks and spending time with her family.

Survivors include one daughter, Dodie (John) Stamper of Garrison; four sons, Oscar Timothy (Hope) Pruitt, Jeffrey Allen (Sandy) Pruitt, Ronald Lowell (Gail) Pruitt, and Leon Douglas Pruitt of Garrison; one sister, Marcella Cabell of Quincy; and two brothers, Melvin “Butch” Carver of Garrison and David Carver of Minford, Ohio. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Oscar Pruitt; one grandson, Jeffrey Dale “JD” Pruitt; two sisters, Catherine Davis and Edna Bloomfield; and four brothers, Norman Carver, Cecil Carver, Robert Carver, and Gary Carver.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Wrights Chapel Church, Montgomery Road at Garrison, with Bro. Clarence Hall and Bro. Larry Joe Madden officiating. Burial will follow in Skidmore Cemetery at Garrison.

Friends may visit after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2023, and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at Wrights Chapel Church.

Pallbearers will be John Stamper Jr., Josh Stamper, Kenneth Stamper, Jared Pruitt, Adam Pruitt, Caleb Pruitt, and Peyton Pruitt.

Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Garrison is caring for arrangements.
