William Acel Evans, 80, of Vanceburg, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Lewis County on April 21, 1942, a son of the late Ithel Elwood Evans and Dolly May Lewis Evans.
Acel was a member of Vanceburg Holiness Church. He enjoyed going to church, working with his son, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Acel is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Brenda Kay Farley Evans; one son, William Todd (Melissa) Evans of Vanceburg; two daughters, Vanessa (Jack) Lewis and Andrea Evans of Vanceburg; one brother Elvin Raymond Evans of Lucasville, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Matt (Lora) Lewis, Alicia (Kristopher) Staggs, Briana (Caleb) Staggs, Taudia Evans, Melisa (Ben) Staggs, TJ (Ashley) Evans, and Kiyeanna Evans; and six great-grandchildren, Isaac Lewis, Josiah Lewis, Brooklyn Staggs, Luke Staggs, Finley Staggs, Tevan Prichard. A host of other family members and friends also survive who will sadly mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Harold Evans, Frank Evans, Herbert Evans, Gordon Evans, Kenneth Evans, Ralph Evans, and Donald Evans, and two sisters, Audrey Thomas and Lovida Griffith.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2022, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Zachary Cordle and Bro. Curtis Cordle officiating. Burial will follow in Evans Family Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of services Monday, May 16, 2022, at the Dickerson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Matt Lewis, Kristopher Staggs, TJ Evans, Caleb Staggs, Ben Staggs, and Isaac Lewis.
