Willie Ray McCormick, 64, of Vanceburg, passed away Wednesday evening, June 22, 2016, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.
He was born October 7, 1951, in Lewis County, a son of the late George Thomas and Nettie Bertha Blankenship McCormick.
Willie was a member of Heselton Baptist Church for over 20 years and worked as a truck driver for Rumpke Sanitation until his retirement. He enjoyed going to church and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Thomas McCormick and Sammy Fred McCormick; and one sister, Helen Louise McCormick.
Willie is survived by his wife of 21 years, Janet Ginn McCormick; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Beuford Lee and Janet McCormick of Tollesboro, and Donnie Dean and Ruby McCormick of Dover; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Rose Ella and Alan Merritt of Washington State, and Phyllis Sue Gregory of Flemingsburg. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Kevin Cornette officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2016, and until the service hour on Saturday at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
