William Lawrence Nolen, 74, of Vanceburg, passed away Friday morning, May 20, 2016, at Golden Living Center in Vanceburg.
He was born March 23, 1942, in Lewis County, a son of the late Ersel and Ethel Butler Nolen.
William was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed watching TV, especially Westerns, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Gene Nolen.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Martha Buckner Nolen; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Paul Stone of Vanceburg; three grandchildren, Kimberly and Elmer Fite, Matthew and Bree Stone, and Katrina and Chad Fegan; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Bobby Nolen, Homer and Jeanie Nolen all of Vanceburg, and Larry and Donna Nolen of Maysville; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Betty and Wilford Buckner, Rosemary Nolen, Ruth and Kenneth Carroll, and Bonnie and Ronnie Rister, all of Vanceburg. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Tommy Parks officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Cemetery at Head of Grassy.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016, and from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour on Monday at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
