Wilma Ruth Workman Douglas, 82, of Tollesboro, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.
She was born in Lawrence County on May 26, 1942, a daughter of the late John and Lillie Hampton Workman.
Wilma was a member of Maysville Church of Christ. She enjoyed working in her flowers, feeding birds, watching Fox News, spending time outdoors, talking to special friends, listening to King of Kings Radio, and spending time with family.
Wilma is survived by two daughters, Jacqui Douglas Cordle and Sherie Douglas (Todd) Wilson of Tollesboro; one son, Tim (Tracey) Douglas of Tollesboro; five grandchildren, Taylor Elizabeth Douglas, Timothy Powell Douglas, Stephen Douglas (Mia) Cordle, John Paul Cordle, and Nicholas Todd (Courtney) Wilson; and a special little girl whom she adored, Nova Hord. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Wendell Ray Douglas; six sisters, Thelma Zag, Hazel Dobson, Louise Justice, Nell Thompson, Juanita Johns, and Gladys Workman; and two brothers, Claude Workman and Samuel Jay Workman.
Graveside services were at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Hillcrest Garden of Memories with Bro. Michael Geagley officiating.
Pallbearers were Tim Douglas, Stephen Cordle, John Paul Cordle, Gene Johns, Shane Wallingford, and Terrell McCall.
Honorary pallbearers were Delmaine Griffith, David Workman, and Mark Justice.
