Wilma Jean Sartin Brown Hoffman, 77, of Vanceburg, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
She was born in Lewis County on October 12, 1946, a daughter of the late Forest Clifford and Hannah Mae Reider Sartin.
Wilma enjoyed her family and friends. She loved to tell stories and make folks laugh. She loved shopping and going to yard sales, fishing and traveling, and listening to church services on the radio in her later days. She loved her husband, children, and family. She testified on how the Lord saved her soul and was baptized and made ready to the coming of the Lord.
Survivors include her husband of eight years, Raymond Hoffman; one daughter, Victoria (David) Lewis of Sandy Hook; four sons, Charles (Joy) Brown and James (Ann) Brown of Vanceburg, Steven (Kendra) Brown of Tollesboro, and Michael (Charlie) Brown of Ocala, Florida; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 16 years, Charles Brown; one son, David Brown; one grandson, Damen Smith; five sisters, Helen Faye Sartin, Betty Mae Sartin, Vernie Sartin Woods, Ruth Sartin Agurier, and Peggy Gilbert; and four brothers, Paul Sartin, John Sartin, Jack Sartin, and James Sartin.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2023, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Jacob Sartin and Bro. Rodney Sartin officiating. Burial will follow in Wedonia Cemetery in Mason County.
