Wilma Lorene “Polly” Stacy Blankenship, 91, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023.
Polly was born on April 24, 1931, to the late Frank and Mary Evelyn Brewer Stacy in Petersville.
She was a farmer and homemaker and was a member at the Scotts Branch Church of Christ.
Polly is survived by two sons, Danny (Teresa) Blankenship and Bruce “Shorty” Blankenship, both of Vanceburg; one daughter, Julia (Walter) Butler of Camp Dix; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and two close friends, Gail Kidwell and Hazel Fannin, also survive who will mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Blankenship; one son, David “Crockett” Blankenship; three brothers, Earl Stacy, James Stacy, and Elbert “Pude” Stacy; one sister, Ermagene Stacy; one grandson, Jason Blankenship; and one great-great-granddaughter, Addison.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street, Vanceburg with Sister Jeanne Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Blankenship Cemetery at Camp Dix.
