Efforts are already underway for Vanceburg’s Winter Wonderland Festival.
Organizer Dawn Wilburn sais the event is being planned for December 3 in Downtown Vanceburg.
“I am so excited to announce that very soon our Winter Wonderland 2016 committee will be meeting again to discuss and make decisions together to have another successful festival here in Vanceburg,” she said.
This will be the second year for the event. The first one in 2015 was a huge success,” Wilburn said.
“We as a team, as a community gave to over 400 children last year,” Wilburn said.
“We had a huge Christmas parade and we got to witness the smiles on so many faces of not only children but adults,” she said. “It taught us all that with a little effort and a lot of determination we could make anything possible.”
“We got so see first hand that Christmas isn’t about getting, it’s about coming together as family, as friends, and as a community and giving,” she said.
“Our goal this year will be to give to so many more to get the word out and have family and friends from all around to come and join us in our 2016 Winter Wonderland Festival here our wonderful home town and my efforts in making this happen will be promised,” she said.
Wilburn is looking for 10 adult volunteers to meet on a regular basis. She said the meetings will be held on Sunday afternoons.
