Charles E. Ross, 85, of Vanceburg, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was born December 3, 1940, in Ross County, Ohio, a son of the late Robert and Elise Johnson Ross.
He was a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ in Christian Union. Charles enjoyed going to the dirt track, drag racing, golfing, camping in his motor home, and spending time with his family and his dog, Gabe.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Beverly Ross; two sons, Bobby (Barbara) Ross and Randy Ross of Vanceburg; one sister, Beverly Seymour of Chillicothe, Ohio; two grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Ross and Alissa Ann Wills; two great-grandchildren, Dawson Wayne Moore and Tony Dale Grayson; and two great-great-grandchildren, Kameryn (Minnie) Ross and Hudson Ray Moore. Many other family members and friends will also sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Marian Peggy Stancliff Ross, and a brother, Donald Ross.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Arthur Moore and Bro. Mark Clendaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery at Richmond Dale, Ohio.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2026, and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Rick Schintzius, Rick Williamson, Kenny Christy, Tim (Dobo) Patton, Kenny McCann, and Dane Blankenship.
