Tammie Horsley VanHoose, 56, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
Born on March 2, 1970, Tammie leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
A loving widow, Tammie was known for her compassionate heart and her willingness to help anyone in need. She found joy in yard sales, fishing, and, most of all, spending precious time with her family. Her warm smile, generous spirit, and caring nature touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She was an avid country music fan, with Conway Twitty holding a special place in her heart. His music reflected the simple, genuine life she loved so dearly.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Leslie Horsley (Brandon Rhoden) of Crittenden; her four beloved grandchildren, Colin Rhoden, Kyler Rhoden, Xander Rhoden, and Adalyn Snodgrass, all of Crittenden; her brothers, Merle and Diana (PD) Horsley Sr. (Plut) of Garrison, Markel Horsley Sr. (Gopher) of Garrison, and Rick Salvia of Garrison; and her sisters, Lillie Clark of Vanceburg, Linda Horsley of Vanceburg, Ruthie Jane and Leroy Rister of Greenup, and Elizabeth Rister of Garrison. She also leaves behind 24 nieces and nephews who loved her dearly, as well as her special friends, Connie Fannin, Kathy Dillow, and Judy Carrington, along with many other cherished family members and friends whose lives she touched.
Tammie was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Evelyn Stone Horsley and James “Jim” Henry Horsley; her beloved husband, Leslie VanHoose; her sister, Laura “Tean” King; her brothers, Jimmy Horsley, Wendall Salvia, Bert “Hobo Joe” Horsley, and Randy Horsley; her stepdaughter, Teresa Hadley; and her son-in-law, Colin McCord, along with many other loved ones who welcomed her into eternal peace.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Tammie’s love will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched. Her kindness, laughter, generosity, and unconditional love will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2026, in VanHoose Cemetery at Garrison with Bro. Tim Underwood officiating.
