Marshall Stone

Marshall Lee Stone, 54, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was surrounded by his children, fiancĂ©e, and loving family.

Having recently accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and been baptized, his family finds comfort in knowing he entered his eternal home in Heaven.

Marshall was born March 20, 1972, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of the late Leo Lee Stone and Imogene Stone.

Marshall enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved sitting on the porch, watching football on Sundays, cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers, and cooking a meal for Sunday Night Football while friends gathered around. He spent many years working as a logger and took pride in his work. In his spare time, you could often find him watching Gunsmoke, one of his favorite television shows.

Marshall was a quiet man who didn’t need many words to show how much he cared. More than anything, he loved his family. His children were his greatest blessing, and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t have done for them. He loved his fiancée, Tammy Bloomfield, with all his heart, adored his three dogs, and treasured every moment spent being “Papaw” to his three grandchildren.

He loved his brother and sister dearly and cherished the time they shared together. Marshall never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without expecting anything in return.

Marshall was a good man with a kind and generous heart. He loved deeply, cared for others, and made everyone around him feel welcome. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched, and he will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Marshall is survived by his daughter, Dedrea (Michael) Scott of Salvisa; his son, Marshall Dustin Stone of Vanceburg; his fiancée, Tammy Bloomfield of Vanceburg; one sister, Melissa Stone of Tollesboro; one brother, Brian (Brakenda) Stone; and three grandchildren, Michael Shane Scott III, Henry Morton Scott, and Emerson Kate Scott. Many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends also survive.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2026, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery on Dummitt Branch.

Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 3, 2026, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Brian Stone, Dustin Stone, Steve Stone, Michael Scott, Brandon Stone, Michael Shane Scott II, and Henry Scott.

Condolences may be sent at www.globefamilyfc.com.
