Deborah Cooper

Deborah Ann Hughes Cooper, 69, of Tollesboro, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 31, 1956, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Meredith and Mary Clark Hughes.

Deborah was an ordained minister who enjoyed attending Black Oak Church of God. She loved traveling, shopping, talking with folks, spending time on her phone, and, most of all, being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Harold Wayne Cooper; three sons, Wayne (Angela) Cooper, Joey Cooper, and Steve Cooper, all of Tollesboro; two sisters, Kathy (Mike) Applegate of Black Oak and Connie (Carson) Hall of Garrison; two brothers, Rick (Lynn) Hughes of Tollesboro and Tim Hughes of Waverly, Ohio; three grandchildren, Tabita Cooper, Ashley Polley, and Jordan Cooper; and four great-grandchildren, Samuel, Alec, Kelly, and Luke. Many other family members and friends will sadly miss her.

Services will be Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 11918 KY 57 at Tollesboro, with Bro. Joe Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.

Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the funeral home.
