Hazel Polley

Hazel Mae Elliott Polley, 92, of Vanceburg, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Portsmouth Health and Rehabilitation in Portsmouth, Ohio.

She was born October 3, 1933, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Otha Robert and Mildred Ginn Elliott.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela (Hershel) Collier of Russell; five sisters, Maxine Anderson, Othea Elliott, Willetta Smith, Lillian Persinger, and Naomi Moore, all of Indiana; one brother, George Elliott of Indiana; two grandchildren, Bethany Collier and Daniel (Sarah) Collier; seven great-grandchildren, Noah (Bella) Collier, Elijah Collier, Isaiah Collier, Raegan Peters, Avery Collier, Ellie Collier, and Kensi Peters; and one great-great-grandson, Ryan Collier. Many other family members and friends will sadly miss her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Ronald Roscoe Polley; two sisters, Jean Lanthorn and Jennifer McNeeley; three brothers, Charles Elliott, Roy Elliott, and Doug Elliott; and one great-grandchild, Kristin Collier.

Services will be at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Pastor Bob Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.

Friends may visit after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Dickerson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Collier, Noah Collier, Elijah Collier, Bethany Collier, Isaiah Collier, and Crit Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio.
