Gary Wayne “Goose” Williamson, 76, of Tollesboro, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 23, 2026. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Lewis County on June 7, 1949, a son of the late Monrow Williamson and Goldia Cooper (Bill) Crawford.
Gary was a member of Pine Valley Christian Church. He was a retired sawmill worker, and farmed tobacco and cattle. He enjoyed taking long rides with his loving wife, watching westerns, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Dearing Thomas of Tollesboro; two sons, Ronald Dearing of Maysville and Charles (Jackie) Dearing; sisters, Linda Coomer, Dezra Smith, Robin Pat (Gary) Wood, Hope Crawford, and Carman Kinney; two brothers, Roy (Sharon) Williamson and Randy (Arlene) Williamson; six grandchildren, Miranda Dearing, Kindra Vice, Lakin (Chris) Highfield, Kimberly Miller, Jonathan Kyle (Shelby) Thomas, and Kimberly Foust; and nine great-grandchildren, Tristan Miller, Colton Highfield, Ely Doyle, Gabriel Miller, Corbin Highfield, Samuel Miller, Arya, Amberley, and Erica Thomas. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Williamson; one brother, Rodney Williamson; and a child in infancy.
Services will be at noon Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 11918 KY 57 at Tollesboro, with Bro. Brad Williamson and Bro. Phil Cropper officiating. Burial will follow in Pollitt Family Cemetery at Burtonville.
Friends may visit after 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Tollesboro Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Alexander Pollitt Jr., Chad Williamson, Jonathan Kyle Thomas, Ely Doyle, Daniel Holt, Kevin Pollitt, James Pollitt, and Jimmy Vice.
