Gladys Smith, 95, of Greenup, went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 29, 2026, at UK St. Claire Hospital in Morehead.
She was born at Greenup on November 12, 1930, a daughter of the late George and Verdie Sturgill Stephens.
Among those left to cherish her memory are three grandchildren, Odith (Ashley Horsley) Smith II of Quincy, Chasitity (Rock) Clemons of Vanceburg, and Nekota (Mike McQuinn) Sword of South Portsmouth; 10 great-grandchildren, Tesla, Tatum, Ashton, Trey, Ariel, Natasha, Briana, Drew, Austin, and Caroline; nine great-great-grandchildren, Stella, Saige, Leland, Sawyer, Kashus, Wesson, Robert, Rodney, and Vada; and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Smith. Several nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends will also sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Smith, in 1993; a son, Odith Smith; six sisters, Hillis Bolden, Mabel Bolden, Annie Evans, Francis Smith, Jenny Reed, and Georgia Smith; a brother, Merle Stephens; and a great-grandchild, Eli.
The family invites relatives and friends to mourn her loss and celebrate her life at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2026, at Roberson Funeral Home at South Shore, with Rodney Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Warnock Cemetery at Greenup.
Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. Friday until the hour of services at the funeral home.
